aka Kumquat Hybrid, Calamansi

This little ornamental citrus is actually a cross between a Tangerine and a Kumquat and has glossy foliage, lovely scented blossom and is almost thornless. The bright orange, round, juicy fruit has few seeds and a sharp acidic taste. Popular for candied peel or marmalade. Perfect as a container plant. Evergreen.

aka Lemon

Citrus. Here's something to make you go 'Eureka' - an unusual variegated form of this popular Lemon. Both the foliage and fruit are variegated green and lemon but the fruit turn completely yellow upon maturity. The flesh of the lemon has hints of pink. Evergreen.

Lemon Eureka loves a warm sheltered spot in the garden with protection from harsh frost. The fruit has quite a low pip count and there are not too many thorns on the branches so if you fertilize and water regularly you've got yourself a great little Lemon tree. Citrus Information Pages

Citrus. This is a thornless lemon when mature. It originates in Italy, has large juicy sour fruit which ripen from July to December. The fruit is medium sized with greenish-yellow flesh that is almost seedless. Plant in a sunny well drained spot. Evergreen.

Citrus. NZ's most popular lemon and deservedly so. Very juicy and a really good cropper. Once established the tree will seldom be without a lemon. More tolerant of cold than many other lemons. Can you feel a Gin and Tonic coming on? Happiest in a sunny well drained position. Evergreen.

aka Lemon

Citrus. 'Villa Franca' originates from Europe and produces large, sharp tasting, juicy lemons. A good choice for those who like a real zingy lemon flavour. The fruit is pale and smooth and matures from April until July. Mostly thornless. Plant in a sunny well drained position. Evergreen.

aka Brown Finger Lime

Australian Brown Finger lime. Known as the caviar of citrus with deliciously aromatic, smooth pebbled skin thats pink turning to brown when ripe, with a crisp lemon lime flavour combination with tiny leaves and thorns. Needs a sheltered frost free site to crop really well. Can be grown in a container.

aka Clementine Mandarin

This new improved Clementine variety ripens around June-July. It has good sized, juicy fruit with very few seeds and a tangy flavour. Peels easily and cleanly. Generally crops well. Plant in a sunny, well drained spot in fertile soil. Evergreen.

Olive. This North Island Selection is a popular variety as it is a prolific producer of fruits suitable for pickling. Highly ornamental tree with blue-grey foliage along with being productive. Plant in a sunny well drained spot. Evergreen.

A small growing Olive that has large crops of small fruit that have a high oil content. Suitable for pickling. Apart from the culinary features 'Koroneiki' also makes a delightful ornamental tree with attractive grey/green foliage. Add a touch of the Mediterranean to your garden. Evergreen.

aka Bitter Orange

Citrus. Famous Spanish selection with heavy crops of bitter oranges ideal for marmalade, liqueurs, preserves, sauces and relishes. Medium to large fruit. The dried peel is often used for seasoning. Upright and vigorous grower well suited for large containers. Fruit ripens June/July. Evergreen.

Large amounts of this orange are imported into England and Scotland specifically for Marmalade production - it's not British Marmalade unless it's made from Spanish oranges that actually originally came from Northern Africa. Citrus Information Pages

aka Navel Orange

Citrus. A firm favourite for Citrus lovers. This large, sweet seedless fruit has an excellent flavour and plenty of juice. Ripening around July/August the mature fruit will hold well on the tree for several months. Plant in well drained soil in a sunny sheltered position. Evergreen.

aka Raspberry Red

This variety has firm quality berries with a lovely flavour. The berries will change colour post harvest. Ripe from Autumn -suitable to prune for a second harvest. A strong grower that doesn't have to be supported. Plant in a sunny spot. Deciduous.

Raspberries fruit on 2nd year 'canes' i.e. older wood. They love well rotted organic matter and will fruit best when given a well balanced fertiliser in early spring. -after autumn fruiting cut back the cane 1/3, and you can have a 2nd fruiting in spring.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland

aka Jamaican Tangelo

Citrus. A vigorous bushy tree with good crops of medium to large bright orange fruit that mature from October through to December. The skin is thick and course but peels easily. A great tasting, seedless, very juicy fruit. Needs a warm sheltered and well drained position. Evergreen.
